(a) The City Clerk shall prepare separate ballots for voters who may be absent from the City on election day. These ballots shall be available to the public at least one week before the election and may be voted at any time before the elector’s departure, in person with the City Clerk, during the Clerk’s regular business day. The ballot shall be voted in essentially the same manner outlined in CCO 3.05.140, but shall be placed in a secrecy envelope and marked as outlined in CCO 3.05.170.

(b) The absentee ballots shall remain in the possession of the City Clerk until the meeting of the canvass committee, at which time the cover envelope will be opened and the secrecy envelopes combined with the accepted questioned ballot secrecy envelopes, per CCO 3.05.240. [Code 1979 § 5.18.]
