A. OVERVIEW
1. Description and Purpose The purpose of this policy is to establish a chain of command for the City of Saint Paul (City) in order to function effectively and efficiently.
2. Applicability This policy applies to all employees of the City.
3. Failure to Comply Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action in accordance with all disciplinary policies of the City.
B. POLICY AND PROCEDURE
1. For the purpose of all communications, program, employment related, and financial commitments of any kind, all employees are expected to abide by the following chain of command at the City, unless otherwise provided herein.
a. City Manager
b. Department Directors
c. Division Managers
d. Division Supervisors
e. Supervisors or Leads
f. Assistants, Clerks, Operators, Technicians, Workers, and all other positions.
2. Some employees may be part of work teams. If this is the case employees still need to follow the chain of command as stated above.
