Resignations of City Councilmembers shall be made in writing, filed with the City Clerk, and shall be effective on the date stated on the resignation. The City Clerk shall notify the City Council at or before their next meeting and the resignation shall be placed on the agenda for Council direction or action to fill the vacancy.
