(a) The City Clerk shall be the Clerk of the Council. He shall attend all meetings of the Council and keep a record of its proceedings.

(b) The Clerk shall record and certify all actions of the Council.

(c) The Clerk shall administer all oaths and affirmations required by law.

(d) The Clerk shall be the guardian of the City seal and the official records of the City.

(e) The Clerk shall give to the proper officials ample notice of the expiration or termination of any term of office.

(f) 

(1) The Clerk shall be responsible for giving notice of all City elections, unless otherwise provided by law or ordinance.

(2) The Clerk shall supervise all municipal elections and shall determine whether each candidate for municipal office is qualified in accordance with this Code.

(g) The Clerk shall be responsible for giving notice of special meetings of the Council and for giving notice of such meetings, at the direction of the Council/Mayor.

(h) The Clerk shall serve as City personnel officer unless the Council authorizes appointment of a personnel officer.

(i) The Clerk shall be responsible for all other duties in connection with the office as required by this chapter, by law, and by action of the Council. [Ord. 19-04 § 2 (Att.), 2019. Code 1979 § 4.3. Formerly 2.25.030.]
