(a) The Planning and Zoning Commission shall consist of five persons who are also then serving on the Council. A quorum shall consist of three or more of the persons serving on the Planning and Zoning Commission.

(b) Each Commissioner’s term on the Planning and Zoning Commission shall run concurrently with his/her term on the Council and shall not be subject to termination for any reason set forth in Chapter 2.05 CCO. Upon the expiration or sooner termination of a person’s service on the Council, the person’s term on the Planning and Zoning Commission shall automatically expire without the need for further action or approval.

(c) The City Council shall select the Commissioners first by seeking volunteers, and then by filling remaining vacancies or eliminating volunteers in excess of five by lottery. Selections shall be made at the first Council meeting following the certification of every regular City election each year, if needed, and thereafter as needed to fill vacancies. Upon being selected by the Mayor, a Councilmember shall become a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission.

(d) Officers of the Planning and Zoning Commission shall be elected as set forth in Chapter 2.05 CCO. [Code 1979 § 14.02.020.]
