(a) Members of the City Council will be compensated in the amount of $30.00 for each hour of regular or special City Council meeting or workshop attendance; provided, however, that compensation for attendance at Council meetings and workshops shall not exceed $1,000 per month for any Councilmember.

(b) Councilmember attendance shall not be rounded to the next whole hour for payment. Compensation shall be paid in quarter hour increments if attendance at meetings does not total whole hours.

(c) Councilmembers attending training sessions or who travel as a representative for the City in their capacity as a City Councilmember shall be paid at a rate of $120.00 per day for the dates of attendance and for travel time. Fees shall be paid in whole day increments and shall not affect or be a part of the $1,000 cap established in subsection (a) of this section.

(d) Councilmembers who are employed by the City of Saint Paul shall remove themselves from regular pay when attending Council meetings, workshops and/or traveling on behalf of the City as a Councilmember, and shall reflect that on the approved timesheet for the pay period affected.
