18.20.190 Violations.

(a) Any person who violates a provision of this chapter shall be subject to a fine as set forth in the schedule of fees adopted under CCO 18.05.060. Each day that a violation continues constitutes a separate violation.
(b) A person shall be exempt from the fines levied under subsection (a) of this section if:
(1) The person has not previously been found civilly or criminally liable for a violation of this section; and
(2) Upon receipt of a notice of a violation of this chapter, the person immediately ceased the activity described in the notice and diligently attempts to obtain the necessary approval or permit or correct the cause of the violation. [Code 1979 § 16.04.030.]
