(a) Members of boards, committees, and commissions are nominated by the Mayor and appointed by the Council except (1) for members of the Board of Adjustment, or (2) when otherwise specifically provided in the Code section establishing the board, committee or commission.

(b) A nomination which is not followed by appointment by the Council shall not become effective. After a person nominated by the Mayor has been rejected by the Council, the Mayor shall nominate another candidate for consideration by the Council. The Mayor may not renominate a candidate who was not appointed by the Council for the same vacancy on a board, committee, or commission unless authorized by the Council. [Ord. 09-03, 2009.
