(a) Each applicant for a plat or replat shall meet with the Zoning Administrator before preparing a preliminary plat. The purpose of the preapplication meeting shall be to inform the applicant of the specific public objectives for the development of the subject tract of land and to advise the applicant of the City’s platting procedures and requirements.

(b) The applicant shall provide the Zoning Administrator with a preliminary sketch of the proposed plat for consideration and discussion at the preapplication meeting. The preliminary sketch shall be in pencil or otherwise capable of being revised at the meeting. The preliminary sketch shall contain all of the information required for a preliminary plat excluding surveying data for bearings, angles, and curves, with approximate street and lot layout tentatively shown.

(c) At the preapplication meeting, the Zoning Administrator and other employees of the City designated by the Zoning Administrator shall review with the applicant the City’s development policies, platting procedures, standards, and requirements as they relate to the proposed application. In addition, the Zoning Administrator shall advise the applicant of recommended modifications that would allow the applicant to meet these policies, procedures and requirements.

(d) The Zoning Administrator and other City employees who attend the preapplication meeting are not bound by comments made during the preapplication meeting. Nothing herein relieves the applicant of the responsibility to become familiar independently with the procedures for approval of an application under this Code of Ordinances. [Code 1979 § 16.02.010.]
